Huye de la influencia paterna, se casa con Laura y tiene una hija. Todo se va al traste cuando el matrimonio se rompe, la gran mentira, el pilar de su existencia le pasa factura. El secuestro de su hija y sus aventuras por bosques y pueblos de Nueva Inglaterra se convierten en una carrera de reflexiones, de huidas del presente ir�nicamente regresando siempre al pasado. Se confiesa en secreto y en voz alta, reconoce y quiere volver a lo que fue, ha tocado fondo y sabe que no hay vuelta atr�s. Desde la c�rcel, una carta que se convierte en una forma de alegato de defensa y confesi�n biogr�fica, le explicar� a Laura los motivos del secuestro y la huida. Trama con una fuerte presencia psicol�gica donde el realismo da paso al amor, a los sue�os, a la perdida y recuperaci�n de la identidad, la impostura y la raz�n. Una historia que intriga, entretiene y hace pensar.
